Sometimes it is easy to get carried away and gush over the beauty of a place. But words don't do justice to Color Country.
How do you describe the storybook scene of a winter sunset over the snow-capped pink spires of Bryce Canyon? How do you understand the greens of Zion in springtime, the cascading waterfalls, and the iridescent color radiating from the incredible cliffs? How do you capture the sea of yellow, orange, and deep green that surrounds Cedar Breaks in the autumn? How do you talk about blue when Lake Powell winds for miles and miles through stark rock and unpolluted sky? And we haven't even begun to talk about the shades of purple that stretch from horizon to horizon overlooking the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
You know that there is something special about Color Country when journalists and travel writers and foreign visitors keep saying over and over again that the highlight of their trip to the West was the national parks of Utah's Color Country.
How can we let you know that we are not exaggerating? There isn't a way. Browsing the pages that follow will give you some idea of the beauty found in Color Country, but you must come see for yourself. We'd love to have you come and visit one or all of the national parks in Utah's Color Country.
